Among all kinds of silicone oils, methyl silicone oil is the most widely used and the most important one, followed by methyl phenyl silicone oil. Various functional silicone oils and modified silicone oils are mainly used for special purposes.

Character: colorless, tasteless, non-toxic, non-volatile liquid.

Application: It has various viscosities. It has high heat resistance, water resistance, electrical insulation and small surface tension. Commonly used as high-grade lubricating oil, shockproof oil, insulating oil, defoamer, release agent, polishing agent, isolating agent and vacuum diffusion pump oil; Lotion can be used for car tire polishing, instrument panel polishing, etc. Methyl silicone oil is most commonly used. It is used for smooth and soft hand finishing of textiles after emulsification or modification. Emulsified silicone oil is also added to shampoo of daily care products to improve hair lubrication. In addition, there are ethyl silicone oil, methyl phenyl silicone oil, nitrile containing silicone oil, polyether modified silicone oil (water-soluble silicone oil), etc.

It has high flash point, low freezing point, and can be used for a long time under - 50 ℃~+200 ℃. It has small viscosity temperature coefficient, large compressibility, low surface tension, good hydrophobicity and moisture resistance, and small specific thermal conductivity.

It is widely used in electrical insulation, demoulding, defoaming, damping, shockproof, rolling, dustproof, waterproof, high and low humidity, etc.

1. Application in mechanical and electrical industry: Dimethyl silicone oil is widely used in motors, electrical appliances and electronic instruments as insulation medium with temperature resistance, arc corona resistance, corrosion resistance, moisture resistance and dust prevention. At present, it is also used as impregnant for scanning transformers of transformers, capacitors and televisions. In various precision machinery, instruments and meters, it is used as liquid shock proof and damping materials. The shock absorption performance of dimethyl silicone oil is less affected by temperature, and it is mostly used in instruments such as aircraft and automobile instruments under the situation of strong mechanical vibration and large change of ambient temperature. It is used for shockproof, damping, stabilizing instrument readings, and can also be used as a liquid spring in the landing device of the aircraft.

2. As a release agent: because this product is not sticky with rubber, plastic, metal, etc., it is also used as a release agent for the molding and processing of various rubber and plastic products, as well as in precision casting. It is not only convenient for demoulding, but also makes the surface of products clean, smooth and clear.

3. As defoamer: due to its low surface tension and insoluble in water, animal and vegetable oils and high boiling point mineral oils, it is chemically stable and non-toxic. It has been widely used as defoamer in petroleum, chemical, medical, pharmaceutical, food processing, textile, printing and dyeing, paper making and other industries. As long as 10-100PPM silicon oil is added, it has a good defoamer effect.

4. Insulation, dustproof and mold proof coating: Dip a layer of dimethyl silicone oil on the surface of glass and ceramics, and after heat treatment at 250-300 ℃, a semi permanent waterproof, mold proof and insulating film can be formed. The insulating performance of the device can be improved by treating the insulating device; the lens and prism can be prevented from mildewing by treating the optical instrument; When the medicine bottle is handled, the preservation period of the medicine can be prolonged, and the preparation will not be lost due to sticking to the wall; It can be used to treat the surface of film, which can play a lubricating role, reduce friction, and extend film life. 1、 Lubricant: This product is suitable for rubber, plastic bearings, gear lubricants. It can also be used as a lubricant for rolling friction between steel and steel at high temperature, or for friction between steel and other metals. However, methyl silicone oil is not particularly good at room temperature, so it is generally not recommended as a lubricant between metals at room temperature.

5. As additive: This product can be used as an additive for many materials. For example, it can be used as a brightener of paint. Adding a small amount of silicone oil to the paint can prevent the paint from floating and wrinkling and improve the brightness of the paint film. Adding a small amount of silicone oil to the ink can improve the printing quality. Adding a small amount of silicone oil to the polishing oil (such as car polish) can increase the brightness, protect the paint film, and have excellent waterproof effect.

6. Application in medical and health care:; Dimethyl silicone oil has no toxicity to human body and is not decomposed by body fluids, so it is also widely used in medical and health undertakings. With its antifoaming effect, it has been made into oral gastrointestinal distension relieving tablets, pulmonary edema antifoaming aerosol and other medicines. Adding silicone oil to the ointment can improve the penetration of the drug to the skin and improve the efficacy. Some plasters with silicone oil as base oil have good effects on scalds, dermatitis, bedsores, etc. Using the anticoagulant effect of silicone oil, it can be used to treat the surface of the blood reservoir and extend the storage time of blood samples.

It can be used as hydraulic oil, especially aviation hydraulic oil, because of its good shear resistance.
